Ujwal Sathyam (AKA Ujwal Setlur) entered the Karnataka Regional Engineering College at Mangalore University, India in 1988. He received the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Mangalore University in June 1992.
In September 1992, he enrolled in his graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the Oregon Graduate Institute. Two years later he received the degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Oregon Graduate Institute. In 1996 Ujwal finished his Ph.D. with a thesis entitled Laser Thrombolysis: Basic Ablation Studies.
Ujwal worked for several years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. He is now a senior director of engineering at Juniper Networks.
