Yin-Chu Chen graduated with a B.S. in Physics from National Taiwan University in 1995. She continued at that institution and received her M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1998. At the same time, she received a Secondary School Teaching Certificate. She taught Science in senior high school from 1997 to 1999.
Yin-Chu Chen matriculated in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the Oregon Graduate Institute in 2000.
Yin-Chu has successfully defended her doctoral thesis on Light Transport in Polymers for Optical Sensing and Photopolymerization and was a post-doc at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine in early 2005. She is now working on staff in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Buffalo in New York. She also changed her first name to "Chelsea"!
