In the following slides I will summarize the findings of our second study, where we have made a comparison between Optical Coherence Tomography and Ultrasound imaging.As we have seen previously, OCT has a penetration depth of approximately 1 mm into the skin.Ultrasound on the other hand can image the whole dermis, however, at cost of resolution. Both methods provide two-dimensional, cross-sectional images.
