Krishna Kumar attended Wichita State University and earned an M. S. degree in Physics in 1994.
Later that year, Krishna entered the Electrical Engineering Department at the Oregon Graduate Institute. He finished his Master's Thesis in 1996 entitled Spectroscopy of Indocyanine Green Photodegradation.
Krishna worked as a Senior Research Scientist at SpectRx on the development of laser micro-poration systems. He moved back Hyderabad, India, and founded Optiwave Photonics. He is the group leader for laser subsystem product development.
