CONCLUSION
While research continues on the
use of polarized light to
achieve images that specify the particle size of scatterers (nuclei, mitochondria,
collagen fiber bundles, etc.),
a simple camera can use polarized
light to create images with contrast dependent on
superficial but subsurface
scattered photons, appropriate for imaging superficial pathology in skin and other
tissues.
