Biomedical Optics Summer Course

Intensive course on Biomedical Optics June 22-27 (Mon - Sat)

... a blend of lectures and lab demonstrations. This course will be held at the Oregon Medical Laser Center, Portland, Oregon, USA, during the week following the Gordon Research Conference on Lasers in Medicine and Biology.

In addition, there will be a Thursday day trip into Oregon wilds to study optical properties, and evening trips to microbreweries to ensure proper comprehension of the day's instruction.

Syllabus:

Basics of tissue optical properties and light transport
Experiments in spectroscopy and imaging using a variety of optical, photothermal, and photoacoustic techniques
Diagnostic device design
Clinical protocol design and process monitoring during medical laser applications
