M [W/cm2]

"At a point of a surface, the radiant energy flux leaving an element of the surface divided by the area of that element."

The Radiant Exitance M [W/cm2] refers to the irradiance which is leaving a surface. It is the same as irradiance E, except the direction of the photons are leaving the area rather than approaching the area.
